HEXAVIA lists the 2 197 000 streets in the 36 600 localities in France and their synonyms (former name, local name).

This data is collected by postmen and is then validated by our two AC, Address Centres, (more than 100 people in total) in collaboration with local authorities. Almost 20 000 thoroughfare names are created or modified every year.

HEXAVIA is updated every month.

Combined with a data entry or address processing software, HEXAVIA can be used :

• to check, correct or complete a street name.
• to ensure that addresses are correctly spelled and comply with the standard, in order to make routing and delivery more efficient.
• to assign the correct street to the correct locality, which is essential in the case of towns with identical names.
• to reduce the number of redundant entries.
• to prevent mail being returned due to an unknown or inexact address (in French PND = Pli Non Distribuable - No longer lives at this address), the modification of a street name or a confusion between two localities with the same name.
