RSPV processing has three functions :
- RESTRUCTURING : placing the various elements of the address in the correct position.
- STANDARDISATION : checking that the address complies with the standard, notably in terms of the number of lines and number of characters per line.
- VALIDATION : checking that the elements which constitute the address are exact.
For RSPV processing to be fully efficient, it must use :
the most reliable and up-to-date reference files.
a high-performance software, that is to say one which is able to identify the maximum number of errors and rectify them correctly, without any risk of wrongly modifying addresses which do not contain errors.
RSPV processing procedures are carried out by specialised computer service suppliers.
The computerised processing of addresses (RSPV) thus improves the quality of address presentation both in terms of content and in the way it is set out.
But it cannot resolve all types of errors.
For example, this processing procedure is unable to supply missing information such as the number of a flat, nor can it correct a spelling mistake in the surname of an addressee ; it is even less able to guarantee that the addressee still lives at the address indicated.
For these reasons, it is impossible to rely solely upon this processing procedure for resolving problems which have not been taken into account during the previous stages of the address chain. |
